Safety Reps & Site Managers Programme

Understanding People. Strengthening Safety.

Building on two well-established Step Change in Safety events, this combined programme brings together safety reps, site leaders and supervisors to explore how strong communities can create safer, healthier worksites.

At the heart of this is a simple belief: it has always been about people, and it always will be about people.

Incidents don't just happen because of equipment failure or missing procedures. They happen because people misread each other, don't speak up, assume someone else will act, or don't feel safe enough to challenge what's wrong.

Step Change in Safety, Shane Gorman and Equilibria’s Lewis Senior and Mark Wilkinson are bringing 'Play Your Part' to life - through people.

This is not a tick-box awareness session. It’s a practical, honest and engaging exploration of how personality, behaviour and communication styles shape the communities that look out for each other, every single day. Building on the core themes of consequence, culture, communication, control of work, and shared responsibility, the programme will help you understand how safer outcomes are created through everyday actions, conversations and decisions.

Using the E-Colours Personality Styles framework, you'll understand why people behave the way they do under pressure, what stops them speaking up, and how leaders, supervisors and safety reps can close that gap – every shift, every conversation, every decision.

Walk away with:

A clearer understanding of yourself and the people in your community

Practical tools to improve communication, trust and accountability

The confidence to speak up, and the skills to create space for others to do the same

A shared language for safety culture that works across every role and every level

Safer worksites are built by communities – communities where people understand people, value different perspectives and work together towards safer outcomes.
